Stopping School Graffiti

Graffiti is one of the most common types of vandalism. It makes people think that their neighborhood has a lot of gang activity but really only about 10% of graffiti are from gangs. 80% of graffiti are from taggers. Graffiti also costs a lot to clean up. It cost taxpayers 1-3$ per year. In a 2006 survey, 2 cities in Los Angeles county, the cost of removal was $28 million.

If there is graffiti it is good to have it removed at least 24 hours after its done. It will discoruge people from putting graffiti there. Also schools should give rewards for helping find the people that graffiti. Giving rewards to the students might encoutage them to report the people vandalising the school.

I agree with almost everything that you had said about graffiti. The only thing that I didn't really agree with was the idea of getting kids involved at school with finding out who was the taggers. I say this because some people who turn in others could get harmed by the taggers who didn't wan't to get caught.

Graffiti isnt good at all, it's defasing the schools property and most the time its of bad words or something else that's not really wanted at school.

Graffiti is really bad but how is anyone going to find the specific person who did it? It seems a bit hard to me.

Maaking kids find the taggers is crucial. If you tell someone you can either be beat up or ur social life will go down

Graffiti shouldn't be put on schools. It makes schools look bad and it might encourage more people to do it.

i think graffiti is low rent and disrespectful. people should be highly fined for committing it and people should be rewarded for reporting it.

Graffiti should be stopped. it's disrespectful.

I think graffiti is a beautiful form of art. Kids believe that too and want to express themselves through it maybe their should just be a place where people are aloud to do it.

i agree but having kids find the tagger is obserd. If your going to tag put it n paper because dont get me wrong but it does look cool.

I second the reward proposition.
Grafitti can display all sort of hate. It can offend people and pose many strong opinions. I think that some "taggers" are truly remarkable artists. sure there are peopl that just spray on some gang signs and thats the stereotpe. But there is a minority of people called graffiti artists. they have so much to live for. the brick wall in the back of the alley is their canvas and they're getting prosocuted for expressing themselves. if i may quote the Bill of Rights, then every citizen has "the freedom of speech". however i think graffiti, in general is not a posotive for the community. but you cant bulk all vandals in the graffiti category into the same boat.
